Company directors, Bruce & Sue Beale between them, have wide-ranging experience in the electronics industry. They started Albany Electronics in 2000, as many manufacturers in New Zealand at that time were experiencing difficulty obtaining components and Sue had the experience and knowledge to locate the quality parts they required.
Bruce has accumulated many years experience in the electronics industry, firstly installing radar tracking and surveillance systems (with AWA, Marconi and Cossor), then operating and maintaining airborne radar mapping equipment on Australian mineral survey operations. In between flying work (as a commercial pilot) he spent time maintaining shipping radar, sounding and radio equipment for AWA (Brisbane). His flying (mostly high altitude aerial survey operations ~see Adastra) was throughout central Australia and Papua New Guinea where he also learnt most of his computer and management skills. Since moving back to New Zealand, he has been directly involved in the design and installation of sewerage treatment UV control systems and was General Manager of an Auckland transformer manufacturing company for 10 years.
Susan has also been involved in the electronic components industry for many years. After completing a business degree in the UK, she worked for a franchised component distributor in the UK and later managed a UK brokerage Company sourcing parts worldwide for UK, American, European and Australasian manufacturers.
